“Gautamiputra Satakarni” (GPSK) box office collections : 2017 started with a special treat for Telugu film lovers. Pongal saw two big releases “Khaidi No. 150” and “Gautamiputra Satakarni.” The Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer released a day after “Khaidi No. 150” but it gave a tough competition to the movie. Balakrishna’s 100th movie, “Gautamiputra Satakarni” has raked in a good amount with good paced and steady business.
The period drama, directed by Jagarlamudi Krish is filled with heavy action scenes and is based on the life and victories of ‘Satakarni‘ who was a Satavahana king. The movie raked in 20 crores on the day of its release in the Telugu speaking states alone.
Based in the 2nd century, the movie tracks the life of the Satavahana king. Nandamuri Balakrishna carried off the role of the fearless leader with elan. The director filled the movie with picturesque visuals. The cast includes Balakrishna and Shriya Saran as the lead pair, supported by Hema Malini, Kabir Bedi, and Shiva Rajkumar.
The Worldwide collections of “Gautamiputra Satakarni” stand at Rs. 65.98 crores approximately.
The Telugu speaking States Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together are at Rs. 48.29 crores
