Veteran Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam Tests Negative For COVID-19

On the 7th of September, veteran singer S.P. Subrahmanyam tested negative for the Novel Coronavirus infection.

The news of Mr. Subrahmanyam being COVID-19 negative was confirmed by his son and a film producer S.P.Charan.

Mr. Charan said his father, Mr. Balasubrahmanyam is on road to recovery and finally after a month tested negative for the deadly virus. 

Mr. Balasubrahmanyam is currently in MGM hospital in Chennai and is undergoing treatment. He has been in hospital for over a month after he tested positive for COVID-19.  He was admitted on the 5th of August. However, on the 14th of August, his health conditions started deteriorating and he was put on ventilator (life support.)

S.P. Charan said, “We were expecting dad’s lungs to improve, as they were, to a certain point where we could remove the ventilator. Unfortunately, we are still not at that. But the good news is dad is COVID-19 negative.” He further added, “We are expecting the lungs to heal fast. Over the weekend, we did have a small celebration for mom and dad for their anniversary. Dad is watching a lot of cricket and tennis on his Ipad. He’s happy that the seasons have started. He’s looking forward to IPL. He’s writing and communicating a lot.”

S.P. Balasubrahmanyam is still on a ventilator and his vitals are being monitored closely.
