After Tollywood actor Mr. Vijay Deverakonda commented in support of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and his recent release Laal Singh Chaddha, many Twitter users trended posts to boycott Liger.
Recently, during the promotion of Liger, Tollywood actor and Arjun Reddy fame Vijay Deverakonda answered a question regarding boycott trend. Addressing the media, Vijay Deverakonda said, “Around 300 cast, technical and non-technical crew work for a film. “Each film is giving work for actors and employment to hundreds of people.” He further added, “Around 3,000 families have survived through employment generated by Laal Singh Chaddha.”
Vijay Deverakonda said, due to the boycott of Laal Singh Chadha, Aamir Khan will not suffer any loss but the people who put effort including those 300 people, who are behind the camera.
The remarks of the Liger actor disappointed a section of netizens, who started trending #boycottLiger. However, the Arjun Reddy (Vijay Deverakonda) fans came in support of the actor and his movie, with #SupportVijayDeverakonda on social media platforms.
Directed by Mr. Puri Jagannadh, Liger is slated for release in theatres on the 25th of August.
