The All India Mahila Congress, on the 13th of January, took to Twitter and criticised Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

The criticism was based on the security issues and the increasing rape cases involving minor girls in the State.

Highlighting the recent rape case in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzzafarnagar, where a few men gang raped two sisters of ages 13 and 15 at gunpoint, the Mahila Congress Committee took a jibe at Yogi.

On the 11th of June, four men allegedly gang raped the two girls near a sugarcane field, Kaserwa village, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

Alok Sharma, the Superintendent of Police of Rural Muzaffarnagar, said, “According to a complaint, the sisters aged 13 and 15 years were gang raped at Kaserwa village by the four men while they went to look for their mother near a sugarcane field.”

On the 12th of June, the Muzaffarnagar Police Station filed a case against the four accused and started an investigation.

The Muzaffarnagar Police started the investigation and assured the victims’ family, they will soon arrest the accused.

The All India Mahila Congress took a dig at Yogi Adityanath, as he frequently speaks about women’s safety and security.

This is not the first time minor girls were raped in the State. Many such incidents have been coming into light in recent days.
