Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, on the 26th of June, left for Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir to review the security arrangements made for the upcoming pilgrimage, Amarnath Yatra.
This is the first visit of Mr. Shah to Jammu and Kashmir after becoming the Home Minister of India.
Amit Shah, during his visit, will review all the security arrangements for the people who will visit Jammu and Kashmir for the Amarnath Yatra.
Mr. Shah is also expected to conduct several meetings regarding the security situation in the State. After the Pulwama terror attack on the 14th of February, the State witnessed several gunfights and encounters.
The security of the people in Jammu and Kashmir is one of the major concerns for Amit Shah.
Shah will also meet Satyapal Malik, the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, to discuss the current situation of the State.
Mr. Shah’s two day visit will end on the 27th of June, following which, he will fly back to Delhi.
