The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit of West Bengal, on the 12th of June, will protest against Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal and the Trinamool Congress (TMC.)

Kailash Vijayvargiya, the General Secretary of the BJP in West Bengal, said, “The BJP MPs are not being allowed to hold Vijay Julus or Abhar Yatra in their constituencies while Trinamool MPs can freely do so.” He further said, “The protest would be against the misuse of government resources to intimidate the BJP workers in the state.”

Upset with the Mamata Banerjee led TMC, the BJP workers and members will march to the Lalbazar Police Station in Kolkata.

The major reason behind the protest is the failure of law and order in the State and multiple attacks on the State BJP workers in the past 6 years.

Jai Prakash Majumdar, a senior BJP leader, said, “Law and order failure is a major concern for all in the state and to highlight it the BJP will gherao the Kolkata Police Headquarters. Moreover, the BJP workers are being attacked across the State and the police are acting in a biased manner.”

The relations between the TMC and the BJP turned ugly after the TMC was recently alleged of hatching a murder conspiracy against the BJP activists and workers in the TMC ruled State.

The protest will begin on the 12th of June at Lalbazar, Kolkata.

Stay tuned for further updates.
