A Dutch national, Mike Kamminga was arrested in connection with the shocking drug bust in Hyderabad. But even after a week of being arrested the police haven’t been able to get a confession out of him.

On 26th July, Mike was arrested and found with DMT (Dimethyltryptamine,) officials have also suspected that he also deals Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and methylenedioxy-Methamphetamine (MDMA.)

Mike’s arrest was considered a real breakthrough for the case as the officials have believed he smuggled the drugs from Europe and sold them to the peddlers in the city.

Much to the officials dismay, Mike is being anything but cooperative. An official reported, “We are questioning him in the presence of advocates. As he is suffering from fever we are not pressuring him. When we asked for the phone password he said he had forgotten it…But, we caught him red handed with DMT. He will get 10 years of imprisonment.”

The officials got a court order to hold Mike in custody for six days. But the officials are getting nowhere as Mike and his advocate are being very careful with the information given during the investigation.

Mike’s phone and laptop have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for more information.

A SIT official was quoted saying, “Mike’s friends used to give his mother parcels saying that he asked them to ship either job related material or some other product to Hyderabad. Mike’s mother, who is in Rotterdam city in (The) Netherlands, used to send those parcels to him in Hyderabad.”

Within the next two weeks, the Telangana Prohibition and Excise department will file its first charge sheet in the case.

A senior SIT official reported, “Eleven cases have been registered and 21 persons were arrested by the Excise Department. As of now, we are going ahead with the consolidation of paper work which includes statements and records of all those who have been questioned so far. Simultaneously, raids are continuing based on the information. The SIT is in the process of preparing documents pertaining to the cases before filing charge sheets. Charge sheets will be filed separately for all the cases. A first charge sheet is likely to be filed may be within next two-three weeks.”
