An Army Major was killed and three army officers were injured on the 17th of June in an ongoing encounter between militants and security forces in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The injured officers were admitted to 92 Base Hospital of the Army in Srinagar and are undergoing treatment.
The fight broke out after the security forces launched a search operation in the Achabal area of Anantnag.
The search operation was started based on intelligence information about the militants hiding in the area of Anantnag district.
The militants opened fire when the security forces were conducting the search operation in the area.
The officials are inspecting the area and the encounter is still going on in Anantnag.
