K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 7th of July, conducted a high level review meeting at Pragati Bhavan, Telangana.
Chaired by KCR, the meeting was organised to discuss about the design of the new urban policy, following which, the officials were asked to draft new revenue, urban and rural policies.
KCR directed the concerned officials to design the policies in a manner which will be helpful and transparent for the residents of Telangana.
As a part of the new Urban Policy, the new Municipal Act, the new Corporation Act and the Hyderabad City Corporation Act will be enacted. Apart from this, KCR also asked the authorities to make changes to the development institutions in other cities, besides Himveer Wives’ Welfare Association (HWWA.)
KCR also discussed about the new Panchayat Raj Act and called upon the newly elected Sarpanches, MPTCs, JDPTCs, MPPs and Zilla Parishad chairpersons to make the necessary changes in Telangana.
KCR said, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) already decided to organize Panchayati Raj congregations across the State to create awareness about the new Panchayat Raj Act.
Vemula Prashanth Reddy, a Cabinet Minister of Telangana, Rajiv Sharma, the Government Advisor, S.K. Sivakumar Joshi, the Government Secretary, Municipal officials and other government officials were present during the meeting.
