Lok Sabha Elections – One More Clean Chit To PM Modi, EC clean chit for PM Chitradurga speech, PM Modi Model Code Violation, Lok sabha polls live updates, Modi hate speech, Modi clean chit EC, PM Modi hate speech, PM violates code of conduct, Mango News

The Election Commission of India (ECI,) on the 7th of May, gave another clean chit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for his ‘Bhrashtachari No. 1’ comment.

This is the 8th complaint against Modi, which the ECI dismissed and cleared Modi from the allegations of the opposition.

The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC,) on the 5th of May, filed a complaint against PM Modi for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and demanded action for his comment about the late Rajiv Gandhi. His son, Rahul Gandhi, the President of the Indian National Congress (INC) also wrote a letter to the ECI demanding same as the UPCC.

According to the complaint, Mr. Modi, on the 4th of May, during a public rally in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, criticised the late Rajiv Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India. He said, “Your father was termed ‘Mr Clean’ by his courtiers, but his life ended as ‘Bhrashtachari No. 1.”

The INC claimed the comments to be disrespectful to the Bharat Ratna Awardee, Rajiv Gandhi, and sought strict action against Modi.

However, the ECI, on the 7th of May, released a statement which reads, “Prima facie, we did not figure out any literal violation of MCC as given in the Election Commission of India instructions.”

After the decision of the ECI, which dismiss every case against PM Modi, the INC President moved to the Supreme Court (SC) and filed a petition against the ECI.

According to the petition, the ECI clears every complaint against PM Modi and Amit Shah, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, whereas takes action against the opposition parties.

The issue was highlighted after several complaints were dismissed by the ECI.

The INC claimed, the ECI is behaving like a puppet of the Modi Government and supporting the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. The allegations are based on the activities of the ECI, which so far cleared all the complaints against Modi such as the Balakot airstrikes complaint, spreading hatred among voters or just common defamatory speeches.

The claims of the INC raises a question regarding the independence of the ECI. This is the 8th complaint cleared by the ECI, which paved the way for future campaigns for the Lok Sabha elections.

Lok Sabha elections started from the 11th of April and will continue till the 19th of May.

The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May, following which it will be declared, which party of two, the INC or the BJP will form the Government of India.

Stay tuned for further updates.
