K.T. Rama Rao (KTR,) the Working President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked what his contribution towards the welfare of the citizens of Telangana is.

On the 5th of April, KTR addressed Munnuru Kapu leaders at the TRS Bhavan and said, PM Modi, who played politics in the last 5 years, is unable to state his contribution towards the growth and development of Telangana.

The criticism of KTR came after PM Modi visited Telangana to address a few public rallies, ahead of the Telangana Lok Sabha elections.

During the public rallies, Mr. Modi, in his speech, spoke about the situation between India and Pakistan, the Balakot attack and the issues between the Hindus and the Muslims. Modi did not speak about the people of Telangana and their development.

Mr. Rama Rao said, “We are Hindus whereas the BJP leaders are election Hindus and political Hindus. Just before the elections, the BJP leaders chant Ram Mandir. We don’t want temple-mosque issues but people’s issues are important.”

KTR also criticised Rahul Gandhi, the President of the Indian National Congress (INC,) for his latest scheme Nyuntam Aay Yojana (NYAY,) which is for the poor people of India.

KTR said, Rahul Gandhi is still following the slogans raised by his ancestors. KTR further added, during the British rule, Mahatma Gandhi used to say ‘Garibi hatao’ and Rahul Gandhi is following the same.

Emphasising the contribution of the TRS, KTR said, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, is the real well wisher of the citizens of Telangana as he devoted his tenure for the welfare of the people of Telangana.

KTR also expressed his confidence about the TRS winning 16 Lok Sabha seats and the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) securing the remaining one seat.

The AIMIM is contesting one Lok Sabha seat from the Hyderabad constituency and is confident about winning that seat.

Telangana will contest a total of 17 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to be held on the 11th of April.

The major parties contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana are the TRS, the INC and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

The results of the Telangana Lok Sabha elections will be declared on the 23rd of May 2019.
