The Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Government, on the 31st of May, allocated portfolios to all the 60 Cabinet Ministers who were sworn in on the 30th of May.

Amit Shah, the former President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was allocated the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Nirmala Sitharaman was given the responsibility of the Finance Ministry. Apart from this, she will also handle the corporate affairs of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be responsible for the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. He will also handle the Department of Atomic Energy, Space, policy issues, and other portfolios of the Cabinet which are not allocated to any minister.

The other major departments such as the Ministry of External Affairs, Women and Child Development and Ministry of Textiles were allocated to Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Smriti Irani.

After the allocation of the portfolios to the Cabinet Ministers, the new Union Cabinet will conduct a meeting, on the 31st of May.
