The Indian National Congress (INC,) on the 22nd of March, announces its second list of candidates contesting the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Odisha.
Rahul Gandhi, the President of the INC, announced 2 candidates for the Lok Sabha seats and 54 candidates for the Assembly seats in the State.
The INC fielded Samarendra Mishra from the Bolangir constituency and Saptagiri Ulka from the Koraput constituency.
The Lok Sabha elections for these two seats will be held on the 18th of April, the second phase of the Odisha elections.
Speaking about the Assembly seats, the Party announced 54 candidates who will represent the INC in the Odisha Assembly elections.
Recently, the INC released its first list of candidates, which included 8 candidates for the Lok Sabha seats and 54 candidates to contest the Assembly seats.
Odisha will contest a total of 21 Lok Sabha seats and 147 Assembly seats in the upcoming Odisha Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. The elections are divided into four phases, which are scheduled on the 11th, 18th, 23rd and 29th of April 2019.
The results of the Lok Sabha elections and the Assembly elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
