Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the 13th of June, left for a two day visit to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit 2019.

The China led SCO Summit is scheduled on the 13th of June and the 14th of June for discussing the economic and security issues in different countries.

Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, will also attend the SCO Summit being held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Although Mr. Modi’s flight got permission for overflight from Islamabad, Mr. Modi took a longer route to reach Bishek.

The PM’s flight reached Bishkek by crossing the airspace of Oman, Iran and Central Asian countries, bypassing Pakistani airspace.

Mr. Modi is scheduled to attend the SCO Summit 2019 and also conduct bilateral meetings with foreign dignitaries.

On the 14th of June, Mr. Modi is scheduled to meet Xi Jinping, the President of China.

Mr. Modi will also meet Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia and Sooronbay Jeenbekov, the President of the Republic Kyrgyz and the SCO Chair.

Mr. Modi will present his vision for regional cooperation and development at the SCO Summit and talk about the links between nations for the purpose of development.
