Telangana is conducting its 2nd phase of the Zila Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) and the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) polls, on the 10th of May.
The polling for 1,850 MPTC and 179 ZPTC seats started from 7:00 A.M., and will continue till 5:00 P.M.
According to the Election Commission (EC) of Telangana, the polling in the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas will end by 4:00 P.M.
A total of 6,146 candidates are in the fray for MPTC seats, whereas 967 candidates are contesting the ZPTC seats in Telangana.
Approximately 1.56 crore voters are eligible to vote and decide the fate of candidates contesting the ZPTC and the MPTC elections. The EC is using ballot papers for the local bodies elections.
The MPTC and the ZPTC elections are divided into 3 phases, scheduled on the 6th of May, 10th of May and the 14th of May.
On the 6th of May, Telangana contested the 1st phase of the ZPTC and the MPTC elections.
The results of the ZPTC and the MPTC elections will be announced on the 27th of May.
