The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) the ruling Government of Telangana, on the 21st of June, celebrated the success of the inauguration of the Kaleshwaram Project at Telangana Bhavan, Telangana.

The TRS leaders and workers organised a grand celebration for the inauguration of one of the most expensive irrigation projects of the Country.

Started in 2016, the TRS Government’s Kaleshwaram Project is the largest multi stage irrigation projects in the world. The Project also entered the world record for being completed in such a short period of time.

The Project will irrigate approximate 45 lakh acres land and provide water facilities to almost 13 districts of Telangana.

The Project will have a storage capacity of 141 thousand million cubic feet (TMC.)
Although the Kaleshwaram Project is one of the most expensive projects in India, worth Rs. 80,500 crores, the Central Government did not fund the project. The Kaleshwaram Project was funded by 20 commercial banks and the State Government.

A leading infra company, Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL,) was responsible for the completion of the electromechanical works.

B. Srinivas Reddy, the Director of MEIL, said, “It’s a privilege and a lifetime opportunity that we are executing this engineering marvel, building the world’s biggest pumping scheme. We are engaging world class technology involving the best agencies and manpower and are racing with time without compromising on quality.”

The multi level irrigation Project is the dream of K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana. He promised the citizens of Telangana, he would bring back the glory of Telangana and make the State ‘Bangaru Telangana’ (Golden Telangana.)

Many workers of the TRS celebrated the achievement, with folk artists carrying Bathukamma and Bonalu on their heads and performing the Potharaju dance.

Traditional Gussadi dancers and leaders carrying pictures of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao were also seen. Ministers such as T. Srinivas Yadav, B. Rammohan, M. Gopinath and other leaders were present during the celebrations.

Stay tuned for further updates.
