In West Bengal, a young BJP worker was found hanging from a tree with a chilling message written on his shirt. The body was found early this morning at Purulia District in the State. BJP alleges this was a political murder linked to the recent violent civic polls in Bengal.
The victim was 20 year old Trilochan Mahato from Supurdih Village in Balarampur Block, Purulia. The message was loosely translated to, “This is for doing BJP politics from age 18. Been trying to kill you since the vote. Failed. Today you are dead.” There was a note with the same message left at the feet of the body.
BJP President Amit Shah reacted to the incident and tweeted, “deeply hurt by the brutal killing of our young karyakarta.” The President uploaded graphic images of Mahato’s body with the caption, “A young life full of possibilities was brutally taken out under state’s patronage. He was hanged on a tree just because his ideology differed from that of State sponsored goons.”
The BJP party immediately called for a CBI inquiry into the political murder.
