On Friday, the Chinese military rejected the Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat’s remarks as ‘extremely irresponsible.’ General Rawat said that India is ready for “two and a half front war,” which was rejected by Chinese military and said he should “stop clamoring for war.”
General Rawat, in a statement, said India is ready to face security threats and attacks by either China and Pakistan or any internal threat. People’s Liberation Army spokesman Col. Wu Qian, responding to General Rawat’s remark said  “Such rhetoric is extremely irresponsible.”
Qian added, “We hope that the particular person in the Indian Army could learn from history lessons and stop such clamoring for war.” This came in response to Rawat’s recent comment that, “Indian Army is fully ready for a two and a half front war.”
This exchange of words comes amidst the military standoff between India and China in Sikkim over road construction. Wu also warned the Indian Army should learn “historical lessons”, which was a reference to the 1962 Indo-Chinese war.
