Shahid Afridi, the former Captain of the Pakistan Cricket team, tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Shahid Afridi, on the 13th of June, took to his official Twitter handle and said, “I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately I’m covid positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah  #COVID19 #pandemic #hopenotout #staysafe #stayhome.”

Shahid Afridi entered the cricket world in 1996 and announced his retirement from international games in 2018.

Cricketer Afridi played 27 Test matches, 398 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 99 T 20 Internationals.  He scored 1716, 8064 and 1416 runs in Tests, ODIs and T20Is respectively.

Meanwhile, Pakistan reported a total of 1,32,405 cases of the Novel Coronavirus till the 13th of June.

The Pakistan Health Ministry confirmed  2,551 death due to the Novel Coronavirus on the 13th of June.

The Ministry of National Health Services said Pakistan conducted a total of 839,019 COVID-19 tests till the 13th of June.
