Social media platforms Facebook and Instagram suffered global outage on the night of the 13th of March and during the early hours of the 14th of March.
The social media platforms were down for hours and were inaccessible to the users. Users across the world, who were facing trouble while viewing their Instagram and Facebook feeds, took to Twitter and reported the issue.
Some users also complained regarding issues while logging into Facebook and Instagram. Even some users of WhatsApp reported having issues while sending photos and voice notes, following which, some of them took to Twitter, with #WhatsAppDown.
The Twitter handles of Instagram and Facebook Twitter posted apologies regarding the issues and assured the users, the issues will soon be resolved.
Facebook posted on its Twitter handle, “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
The problem was first reported by a website, Downdetector.com. The website monitors other websites, which showed Facebook and Instagram were experiencing issues across a large portion of the U.S., Europe, South America and Asia.
People took to Twitter and posted their complaints using #FacebookDown and #InstagramDown.
