On the 28th of June, South Africa won the One Day International (ODI) match against Sri Lanka in the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup.

The 35th ODI match took place at the Riverside Ground in Durham, England.

This year, England is the host of the ICC World Cup, which started on the 30th of May and will continue till the 14th of July.

In the ODI match, South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl first. They scored 206 runs, with a loss of only 1 wicket after 37.2 overs and won the ODI match by 9 wickets. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, scored 203 runs and had a loss of 10 wickets after 49.3 overs.

In this series of the ICC World Cup, Team South Africa played 7 ODI matches, on the 30th of May, the 2nd of June, the 5th of June, the 16th of June, the 19th of June, the 23rd of June and 28th of June. Out of the 7 matches, Team South Africa lost 5 matches against India, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand and Pakistan, whereas they won two matches, one against Afghanistan and the other against Sri Lanka.

On the other hand, Team Sri Lanka played 4 matches, on the 1st of June, the 4th of June, the 21st of June and the 28th of June. Out of the 4 ODI matches, Sri Lanka won the matches against Afghanistan and England.

According to the ICC matches scheduled, Sri Lanka was supposed to play 4 matches till now. However, two ODI matches of Sri Lanka, scheduled on the 7th of June and the 11th of June against Pakistan and Bangladesh respectively, were abandoned due to rain.

In yesterday’s match, Faf du Plessis was the star player of Team South Africa, who scored highest 96 runs off 103 balls, whereas Dwaine Pretorius was the Man of the Match, who let Team Sri Lanka score only 25 runs in 10 overs with a loss of 3 wickets.

With this spectacular performance, Team South Africa ranks as the 5th best ODI team of the ICC World Cup 2019.

On the 29th of June, there will be a match between Pakistan and Afghanistan at 3:00 P.M.
