Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minister of Japan, on the 28th of August, announced to resign from his post. 

Mr. Shinzo Abe said he would resign as the Prime Minister of Japan due to health issues.

Shinzo Abe said, “I have decided to step down from the post of the prime minister.” 

According to sources, Shinzo Abe is suffering from a recurrence of ulcerative colitis for more than a year. 

Mr. Abe in order to avoid problems for the Government decided to step down from the PM post.

Officially, Shinzo Abe’s term as the Prime Minister of Japan was scheduled to end in September 2021. He was appointed as the Prime Minister of Japan for the second time in December 2012.

Under Shinzo Abe’s leadership, Japan witnessed development and growth like better relations between India and Japan, welfare of citizens and others. 

After Shinzo Abe, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) would elect a new leader for the Nation. 

However, Mr. Abe would continue until formally replaced by another leader.

Shinjiro Koizumi

However an official announcement is yet to be made.
