Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the 22nd of August, reached France to attend the G7 (Group of Seven) Summit.

The G7 Summit is a two day event, scheduled to be held from the 24th of August to the 26th of August.

The Indians in France welcomed Mr. Modi at the airport in Paris, where he was received by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian.

On the 23rd of August, PM Modi addressed a joint press conference with Emmanuel Macron, the President of France.  Later, Modi will also conduct bilateral talks with President Macron and discuss a comprehensive strategic partnership and other bilateral issues.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and posted, “Landed in France, marking the start of a key bilateral visit. India and France enjoy extremely friendly ties and have been working together bilaterally and multilaterally for years.”

Modi, while departing India, released his departure statement and said, “India and France have excellent bilateral ties, which are reinforced by a shared vision to cooperate for further enhancing peace and prosperity for our two countries and the world at large.”

He further added, “I am confident that this visit will further promote our long-standing and valued friendship with France for mutual prosperity, peace and progress.”

Later, Mr. Modi will travel to the United Arab Emirates, where he will be awarded the ‘Order of Zayed,’ the highest civilian decoration given by the UAE Government.

Modi is also scheduled to conduct talks with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.  On the occasion, Modi will also launch the RuPay card and will expand the cashless transactions in foreign countries.

After meeting the Crown Prince of UAE, Narendra Modi will visit Bahrain and meet King Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Mr. Modi will return to France on the 24th of August, to attend the G7 Summit.
