Donald Trump, the President of the United States of America (U.S.A.,) on the 14th of April, announced the halt of funding for the World Health Organisation (WHO.)

Mr. Trump said, “Today I am instructing my administration to halt funding of the World Health Organization while a review is conducted to assess the World Health Organization’s role in severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus.  Everybody knows what has gone on there.”

During a conference over the pandemic illness at the White House,  Donald Trump discussed the role of the WHO and announced to lift the shut down soon.

Donald Trump said the WHO was biased and was taking the side of China over the Novel Coronavirus updates and decisions.

Mr. Trump said, “Had the WHO done its job to get medical experts into China to objectively assess the situation on the ground and to call out China’s lack of transparency, the outbreak could have been contained at its source with very little death.”  He further added, “The WHO’s attack on travel restrictions put political correctness above life saving measures.”

Mr. Trump alleged the WHO of being silent about the COVID-19 reports and announced it as a pandemic emergency, when things were out of control.  Donald Trump said, “The inability of the WHO to obtain virus samples to this date has deprived the scientific community of essential data.  New data that emerges across the world on a daily basis points to the unreliability of the initial reports and the world received all sorts of false information about transmission and mortality.”

However, the United Nation opposed the decision of withdrawing funds at the time of pandemic emergency from an organisation, working to fight COVID-19.

Antonio Guterres, the General Secretary of the United Nations said, “Now is the time for unity and for the international community to work together in solidarity to stop this virus and its shattering consequences.”

The WHO is yet to respond to the allegations and decisions of U.S.A., of halting funds to the WHO.   The United States of America provides 436.8 million dollars as voluntary donation to the WHO.

Due to the economic crisis in America, Donald Trump is also eager to lift the ban to have some stability in the economic situation in the Nation.  However, the final call regarding the lift on shutdown would be taken by the individual governors of the respective states.

The U.S.A., President said, “I’m not going to put any pressure on any governor to open.”

However, it is expected, Donald Trump would discuss and ask to open up the states with less population, where the spread is less.  Donald Trump said, “We’ll open it up in beautiful little pieces.”

Donald Trump also decided to deploy a new task force, dedicated to work on the reopening of U.S., states with a strategy so the virus spread is under control.

Donald Trump is also expected to conduct a conference with all governors and discuss the reopening of some of the states in the U.S.A.

The United States is one the most affected nations due to COVID-19 with 6,14,246 positive cases and 26,064 deaths till date.

Stay tuned for further updates.
