Sputnik V Vaccines Arrive In India, Clinical Trial Soon

The Russian vaccine for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, Sputnik V vaccine arrived in India on the 12th of November.

With the arrival of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine, the clinical trials of the vaccine will be conducted by a Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company.

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories has given its nod. It is said that the Sputnik V vaccine is 92% effective in protecting people against the Covid-19. Dr. Reddy’s lab has entered into a partnership and agreement with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) to conduct clinical trials of Sputnik V in India and its distribution here. As part of this, the Russian Direct Investment Fund will supply ten crore doses of the vaccine to Dr. Reddy’s upon regulatory approval. It is likely to be available by March 2021.
