The United States of America (U.S.A.,) reported more than 2,000 deaths in just one day due to the pandemic illness, the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. 

Johns Hopkins University, on the 10th of April, released a report confirming as many as 2,108 deaths in twenty four hours, due to the COVID-19.  Because of these many deaths in a day, New York State witnessed a mass grave at Hart Island.

Contractors were hired to bury people who died after being infected with Coronavirus and whose bodies were not claimed by their families.  

With this, the death toll of the United States is at 18,693 and confirmed cases are 5,00,399  till date. If the numbers keep on increasing at the same rate the U.S.A., would surpass Italy in death tolls due to the Novel Coronavirus.  Italy recorded a total of 18,849 deaths due to COVID-19 till date.

Though the situation is worsening in the U.S.A., with 2k plus deaths in a day, the experts at the White House suggest the situation is still not the worst and the outbreak of the virus is soon going to level off.

The researchers and medical experts said the U.S.A., witnessed the highest numbers of deaths and now it would start decreasing steadily, making the situation better.

Dr. Deborah Birx said despite increasing numbers in the U.S.A., is not at its peak.  Dr. Birx said, “As encouraging as they are, we have not reached the peak.”

The predicted death toll in the U.S.A., was 1,00,000 due to the Novel Coronavirus till April.
