USA – White House Reported First COVID-19 Case

The White House of the United States of America (U.S.A.,) on the evening of the 20th of March, reported its 1st Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 case.

Katie Miller, the Press Secretary of Mike Pence, the Vice President of the U.S., issued an official press release , which read, “This evening we were notified that a member of the office of the Vice President tested positive for the coronavirus.” 

The COVID-19 positive person is a staffer on the team of the U.S., Vice President and the first one to be reported from the White House personnel.

When asked if the staffer had direct contact with Donald Trump, the President of the U.S., and Mike Pence, Ms. Miller said they did not have close contact with the individual.

In addition, Ms. Miller said, “Further contact tracing is being conducted in accordance with CDC guidelines.”

With these developments, the White House implemented strict provisions for entry of any individuals within the premises. 

The arrangements were done to maintain social distancing, as the Coronavirus killed 230 people in the United States.

Globally, the number is more than 9,000 dead and infected people are approximately 2 lakhs.
