Two terrorists were shot dead and three Army soldiers were injured in an encounter in Budgam district, Kashmir, today morning.

Today morning, a gunfight broke out between the security officials and the militants, after the security personnel found two or three terrorists hiding in a building.

The deceased include Naved Jatt, a Lashkar e Taiba (LeT) member, who allegedly killed Shujaat Bukhari, Editor, Rising Kashmir (a local newspaper,) on the 14th of June, 2018.

In light of Naved Jatt’s death in today’s encounter, Dilbagh Singh, the Jammu and Kashmir Police chief, said, “We’ll be writing to the home ministry to inform Pakistan to take back the body. It was a swift operation carried out by security forces. We finally got the prize catch Naveed Jatt. He has managed to give us the slip in six different encounters but today our boys managed to pin him down.”

The State Police and the Army launched a joint search operation in the Chattergam village of Budgam and cordoned off the area. The officials are inspecting the areas and stopped the internet services in Budgam as a precautionary measure.

The encounter is still going on in the Chattergam, Budgam.
