The Telangana Government, in order to conduct peaceful elections, took a measure of restricting the movement of those individuals who are not voters, till the polls end.

M. Mahender Reddy, Director General of Police, issued an order, which states, outsiders should not visit the polling areas for at least 48 hours.

The reason for such a step is to avoid disturbance during the elections, by those individuals who are not voters and might create chaos. Outsiders were asked to avoid going to Kalyana Mandapams and community halls and other such areas.

Tight security will be maintained to ensure smooth polling. Approximately 17,854 police personnel will be deployed at 1,164 polling booths across Hyderabad.

The police officials will also keep an eye on those individuals who are staying at lodges and guesthouses. They will check the visitor’s identities and keep a track of who is a voter and who is not.

The Telangana Assembly elections are scheduled on the 7th of December and the results for the same will be announced on the 11th of December.
