On the 10th of July, all the educational institutions will remain closed, due to a strike called by the Students Union.

The Students Union Joint Committee, on the 9th of July, announced a ‘bandh’ due to the increased fees in all private and corporate institutions across Hyderabad, Telangana. All the students’ organisations also planned a rally from Narayanaguda flyover to RTC Crossroads as a part of the protest.

Apart from a reduction in fees, the Union also demanded detailed information regarding the infrastructure, new building construction in government and gurukul schools.

The Students Union Committee also asked the Government of Telangana and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to hire new teachers and fill all the vacant posts in the government institutions.

All the students union across Telangana, such as the Students’ Federation of India (SFI,) the All India Students’ Federation of India (AISF,) the Progressive Democratic Students’ Union (PDSU,) the All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO,) and the Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika (TVV) supported the bandh.
