The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) invited several firms to invest and operate e autos in Hyderabad.
The decision came as a way to improve the first and last mile transport connectivity to Metro stations at places such as JNTU, KPHB, Erragadda, SR Nagar, Dilsukhnagar, Victoria Memorial, Habsiguda, Khairatabad, Durgam Cheruvu and HITEC City.
According to a source, the HMR will give priority to those firms which come up with the least price per km, compared to the other firms in Hyderabad.
The HMR will also sign a contract of five years and will launch the e autos for better transport convenience of the citizens of Hyderabad residing in these areas.
Speaking about the designs, the e autos will have GPS trackers, a special helpline number and a special uniform for the auto drivers.
Passengers using the services can also file complaints with the helpline numbers, following which, the HMR and the concerned firm will take immediate action.
The new service will soon start in Hyderabad.
