On the 4th of June, Sri Lanka won the One Day International (ODI) match against Afghanistan with 34 runs, in the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup at Cardiff, England.

The ICC World Cup is being hosted by England this year. It started from the 30th of May and will continue till the 14th of July.

Sri Lanka performed well with an outstanding score of 201 runs and a loss of 0 wickets after 36.5 overs. Afghanistan, on the other hand, managed to score 152 runs after 32.4 overs.


Although the ODI was supposed to last for 50 overs, due to heavy rain, it was played for 41 overs and the target to win the match was 187 runs.

Kusal Perera, representing Sri Lanka, stole the show with an opening of 78 runs.

The next match, which will be between South Africa and India, is on the 5th of June at 3:00 P.M.
