Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC) and Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of the All India Congress Committee (AICC,) along with other INC leaders, staged a protest against the Government of India (GoI.)

On the 11th of July, the INC leaders raised their voices against the Karnataka and Goa Government crisis. In recent days, many Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in Goa and Karnataka resigned from their posts.

The INC blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for causing the defection of 10 MLAs of the INC in Goa and 13 MLAs in Karnataka.

In Goa, the INC has a total strength of 15 MLAs. With the resignation of the 10 MLAs, the number of MLAs dropped to 5.

If the MLAs who resigned from the INC join the BJP, the BJP will be a powerful Party in Goa.

The INC leaders are protesting in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Parliament premises of Delhi. They raised slogans and displayed placards which read, “Save Democracy.”

In Karnataka, approximately 13 MLAs of the INC-Janata Dal (Secular) (JD[S]) alliance resigned from their posts. Out of the 13 MLAs, 10 were from the INC, whereas the remaining belonged to the JD(S.)

In Karnataka, the JD(S) and the INC formed an alliance against the Bharatiya Janata Party. If the MLAs resign, the BJP has a high chance to gain power in Karnataka.

Stay tuned for further updates.
