Sharad Pawar, the President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP,) predicted the future of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi and said, the latter will not come to power again.

Mr. Pawar said, “I don’t think that Narendra Modi will become PM again as the BJP will not get the required number in the elections. However, the BJP may emerge as the single largest party which cannot form the government without the support of other political parties.”

Mr. Pawar said, the BJP may come to power again, but PM Modi will not be the new Prime Minister.

Mr. Pawar, in support of his statement, said, the parties which will support the BJP, will look for someone else as the new PM.

Pawar also criticised the statement of Amit Shah, the President of the BJP, who recently, during a public meeting, said, the BJP will win 45 Lok Sabha seats out of the 48 in Maharashtra.

Mr. Pawar sarcastically said, Shah made a mistake while saying this and should have instead said, the BJP will win all the 48 seats in Maharashtra.

Although Sharad Pawar is not contesting the Lok Sabha elections, he is confident the NCP will secure the majority of the seats in the Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections.

Maharashtra will contest a total of 48 seats in four phases in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 11th, 18th, 23rd and 29th of April 2019.

The results of the elections will be declared on the 23rd of May 2019.

Stay tuned for further updates about the Lok Sabha elections.
