Vishwajit Kampa, the Nodal Officer of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) of Hyderabad, on the 27th of February, called for a meeting and ordered the various MCC committees to follow the MCC, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

The MCC is a set of guidelines designed by the Election Commission (EC) of India to govern the conduct of the political parties and their campaigns during the elections. It ensures, the parties are holding their campaigns in a fair manner, without violating any law. The MCC comes into effect as soon as the EC announces the dates of the elections and lasts until the results are declared for the same.

The meeting, conducted by Vishwajit Kampa, was held at the main office of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC.)

Venkateshwar Reddy, the Nodal Officer of the Elections Expenses, and the in charge officers of several MCC committees were present at the meeting.

During the meeting, Mr. Kampa also instructed the appointed teams to ensure, political parties follow the norms of the MCC. Moving further, Kampa asked the appointed teams to register complaints regarding the elections through a mobile app, C Vigil, designed by the EC.

Vishwajit Kampa also explained the job charts of video surveillance teams, flying squads, account teams and video viewing team. He later ordered the respective teams to start the work as soon as the EC issues the election notification.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled between April and May 2019 and the major parties contesting are the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
