Mr. Komatireddy Sridhar Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Nellore Rural District, has been booked in a kidnapping case.
On the 3rd of February, the Vedayapalem police registered the case under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.) Notably, the case was filed on the complaint of Mr. Vijayabhaskar Reddy, the 22nd Division Corporator, who was allegedly kidnapped by the goons of Mr. K. Sridhar Reddy.
In his statement, Mr. Vijayabhakar Reddy said, he was kidnapped by a close aide of the Nellore Rural MLA Murali Krishna Yadav, but somehow he managed to escape and rushed to the police. He said, Mr. K. Sridhar Reddy threatened Vijayabhaskar Reddy to quit his post and also asked him to leave the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government. When he refused to join Mr. Komatireddy Sridhar Reddy, he threatened and then kidnapped him. It is to be noted, Mr. Komatireddy Sridhar Reddy, a former YSRCP member, recently quit his party alleging that the party tapped his phone.
The Nellore Police also registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
