Not to win, but lose, is the agenda of Mr. Hasanuram Ambedkari, who filed his 94th nomination in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election.

A farm laborer and a Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) job cardholder, Mr. Hasanuram Ambedkari is filing nominations since 1985 and lost every election.  When asked about his idea behind this, he said, “I contest elections to lose.  The winning politicians forget the masses.  I want to set a record of losing elections 100 times.  I do not care who my opponents are as I contest elections to give an option to voters who believe in Ambedkar’s ideology.”

Notably, in 1988, Mr. Ambedkari filed a nomination for the President of India, which was rejected.  Initially, when he started filing for nomination as an independent candidate, he was ridiculed and was said, no one, including his family and wife, would vote for him.  Despite criticism from people, he did not give up and continued to file nominations to achieve the record of losing 100 times.

Mr. Hasanuram Ambedkari filed his nomination as an independent candidate from the Kheragarh Assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra.  He has no schooling and formal education but knows Hindi, English, and Urdu, both verbal and written.

Highlighting Mr. Hasanuram Ambedkari, who is a member of the All India Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation (BAMCEF) founded by Kanshi Ram.

Instead of holding campaign rallies, Mr. Hasanuram Ambedkari started his door-to-door campaign for UP Assembly elections with his wife and supporters.   He said, “My agenda has always been impartial and corruption-free development and welfare of the marginalized in society.”

Notably, Mr. Hasanuram Ambedkari is a true follower of the late Ambedkar and follows his ideologies.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh election 2022 for 403 seats are scheduled to be held in seven phases, set to begin from the 10th of February.

The results of the Assembly elections would be announced on the 10th of March 2022.
