Heat wave claims 470 lives in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: Nearly 470 people lost their lives in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the past few days due to heat wave. As many as 290 have died in AP and over 186 in Telangana, till Sunday. On Sunday, 47.7 degrees Celsius was registered in Bamrauli in Allahabad and on Friday, Khammam registered 48 degrees Celsius.

An official of India Meteorological Department said that on Monday, severe heat wave conditions will continue in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. In the coming week, Delhi is expected to record a maximum of 45 degrees Celsius. According to weather department, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan may witness dust storms and thunderstorms.
