Cow Slaughter An Offence In Gujarat!

The state Assembly today amended the Gujarat Animal Preservation Act of 1954. According to the Law, cow slaughter will now be considered as a punishable offense and will lead to life imprisonment in Gujrat. The people found selling or consuming beef will bear fine that can range from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakhs. This is not all, the bearer will also be imprisoned for 10 years.

The penalty until now was Rs. 50,000 with an imprisonment of 7 years. Gujrat Chief Minister, Vijay Rupani, and his government are also thinking about introducing a bill to save cows. This amendment has been made after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, ordered an elimination of illegal slaughterhouses in the State.

The Country requires more leaders who bring an end to illegal slaughterhouses. The ban in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh will help in bring down the cow slaughter rate.
