The city of Hyderabad faces a major issue with garbage dumping but the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner has a solution. To tackle locals dumping garbage in empty lands the GHMC has decided to construct compound walls and plant saplings at the vulnerable points.
On Sunday, GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy instructed Deputy Commissioners and Zonal Commissioners to begin beautifying vacant lands in the city.
Mr. Reddy asked each commissioner to begin with identifying the empty plots in their assigned areas. He then asked them to turn the GHMC lands into playgrounds. Reddy directed them to build compound walls and grow plants in the remaining empty lands.
The GHMC Commissioner also asked his men to assign one worker to each of the vacant lands. The worker will ensure garbage is not thrown into the empty plot. Mr. Reddy asked his men to identify the people facing problems with garbage dumping and implement the solution.
