Hyderabad Records Highest Temperature This Summer

The temperature in Hyderabad was recorded at its highest this summer on Sunday with mercury levels touching 42 Degree Celsius. This is an increase of 2 Degrees from the usual expected temperature during this time of the year.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said the temperature would continue to increase in the next two days. It is expected to record temperature as high as 44 Degree Celsius in parts of Telangana.

Just like last year, Adilabad remains the hottest area in the State with temperature soaring to 44.3 Degree Celsius on Sunday. The lowest temperature in the State was recorded at Bhadrachalam at 39.4 Degree Celsius.

However, the IMD has not declared a heat wave and said the temperature was rising due to the discontinuity in the North South wind. A heat wave is declared when the temperature is recorded 5 degree Celsius more than the expected temperature.

The Telangana State Disaster Management Authority (TSDMA) issued heatwave instructions to all the departments in the State. The instructions will have the department reduce the number of heat wave deaths over time.
