Telangana Native Anudeep Tops The Civil Services Exam

Anudeep Durishetty a native of Telangana topped the Civil Services Exam. The 2017 exam results were released on Friday evening by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC.)

The official release showed Durishetty as the topper while Anu Kumari ranked second and Sachin Gupta secured the third rank. The release also revealed Anudeep belongs to the other backward classes (OBC) category and is from Metpally in Telangana.

Anudeep passed the exam with the optional subject of Anthropology. He graduated with a Bachelors in Electronics and Instrumentation degree from BITS, Pilani in Rajasthan.   

The topper spoke to the media and said, “I am really happy to get this result today. I am grateful to all the people who supported me throughout. It wasn’t an easy journey, but I am happy to be here.”

Anudeep’s father Manohar said, “We are very happy about our son acing the Civil Services 2017. Anudeep got the IRS in his second attempt. Now, he is working as a commissioner, GST, in Hyderabad.”

Even though Anudeep passed the exam earlier he attempted it for the fifth try for a better result. Among the top 25 ranking candidates 17 were men while 8 were women.
