In yet another major accident in Telangana, a truck crashed into a bus killing 7 people and injuring several others. The incident took place in the morning in Chenjerla village in Karimnagar District.
The accident occurred when the speeding truck collided with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus. Visuals of the accident site show a huge hole on the side of the bus where the truck crashed.
The truck rammed into two bikes and then came to a halt. Locals rushed to the victims’ rescue while ambulances arrived at the site. The police explained the over speeding was the obvious reason for the accident. However, a thorough investigation would be launched into the incident.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao expressed his condolences to the victim’s families. Finance Minister Etela Rajender rushed to the spot and oversaw the rescue operations.
Mr. Rajender said, “It was very painful for me. One truck was trying to overtake another lorry and ended up hitting the bus in the process. The State Government will take care of treatment for the injured and bear all costs.”
The traffic on the state highway was halted for a while till the police came to clear the traffic.
Last week, a TSRTC bus, two trucks and an SUV met with a massive accident resulting in the death of 10 people and injuring 26 others. The accident took place in Telangana’s Siddipet District.
