The World Telugu Conference is a five day event to promote the Telugu language. The event began on the 15th of December and will conclude on the 20th of December.
The event was inaugurated by the Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu. Telangana CM KCR and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan were also present at the inaugural session.
To highlight the rich Telugu culture a classical dance performance by 30 artists was seen on the first day. To mark the beginning of this literary and cultural event a laser show and fireworks were made a part of it.
The WTC is being attended by 8,000 Telugu speaking delegates from all over the world. A number of well known Telugu poets, writers, literary figures and artists joined the conference. This is the first WTC event being held since the formation of the Telangana State in 2014.
President Ram Nath Kovind will arrive in Hyderabad today to attend the last day of the WTC.
