In a shocking incident, the Childline officials in Andhra Pradesh rescued two minors from a 38 year old abusive pastor. On Wednesday, the Childline services received a call from worried citizens who saw two minors being thrashed by a pastor.
The incident took place at Pastor Wilson’s house in YSR Colony in Jakkampudi in Vijayawada. The two minors rescued are aged 4 and 6.
Childline Officials reported the children said they were beaten by the pastor for not following his instructions.
Childline official, Arava Ramesh said, “The children said they were beaten with sticks, a belt and a wire. As far as we can see the wounds, they seem to be a week to ten days old. The neighbors had noticed the injuries and called us on the helpline.”
The bruises and wounds on the children’s body suggest they were being beaten up on a regular basis. According to Ramesh, the pastor had taken the children to the educate and take care of them. The pastor took them under his wing after their parents requested him for help as they were financially unstable.
Ramesh explained, “The children were going to school, and we have confirmed it. We have informed the parents, natives of Vizianagaram district, who are on their way to meet the children.”
The children have been taken to a home for children in Gandhinagar. It has also been reported that a police case is yet to be registered.
