Days after the launch of Apple iPhone 13, the production is expected to be reduced due to global chip shortage.
The Apple Company is likely to slash production of its iPhone 13 by as many as 10 million units. Previously, the company was to produce 90 million new iPhone models. However, due to a shortage of global chips lead to the reduction in production by 10 million units.
According to sources, chip suppliers including Broadcom Inc (AVGO.O) and Texas Instruments (TXN.O) are struggling to deliver components, following which the production is affected. After the big announcement, the shares of Apple fell 1.2% while Texas Instruments and Broadcom were both down about 1%.
Recently, on the 14th of September, the most awaited iPhone 13 series was launched by Apple. In its California Streaming event, the company launched four versions of iPhone 13: the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Highlighting the features of these four versions, they are different in sizes, display, storage and other key features. While the iPhone 13 mini is the smallest in size (5.4 inch display,) iPhone 13 Pro Max is the largest with 6.7 inch display. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini would be available in five colours – Pink, Blue, Midnight, Starlight, and (PRODUCT) Red.
In addition, the storage capacity of these new versions would be 128 GB from the previous 64 GB. iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will be available in four colours – Graphite, Gold, Silver, and Sierra Blue.
The new iPhone 13 series would be available at a cost starting from Rs. 69,900 to Rs. 1,09,900. The iPhone 13 mini would be available in India starting at Rs. 69,900. For the 128GB model it would cost Rs. 79,900, for the 256 GB model, the cost would be Rs. 89,900 and for the 512 GB model, iPhone 13 mini would cost at Rs. 1,09,900.
The iPhone 13 Pro price in India is set to begin from Rs. 1,19,900 for the 128 GB storage model, Rs. 1,29,900 for 256GB model and Rs. 1,49,900 for 512 GB model and Rs. 1,69,900 for 1TB storage model.
Speaking of iPhone 13 Pro Max, it starts at Rs. 1,29,900 for the 128GB storage model, 256GB at Rs. 1,39,900, 512GB model at Rs. 1,59,900 and the 1TB storage model at Rs. 1,79,900.
