Apple is planning to manufacture the new edition of iPhone series in India.

After launching iPhone 11 in 2019, Apple is all set to launch its next series iPhone 12 in 2021.

However, this time Apple’s new mobile would be ‘Made in India’ and is expected to be ready by the middle of 2021.

Wistron, Apple’s Taiwanese contract manufacturer is likely to start production of the new iPhone soon. The new production would begin at the company’s Narasapura plant near Bengaluru with a planned investment of approximately Rs. 2,900 crores. In regard to this, the company, Wistron is planning to hire nearly 10,000 employees.

According to sources, currently nearly 1,000 employees started working at the new plant and by October 2020, the new plant would be functional.

The new iPhone 12 would be the latest to join the increasing lineup of Made in India iPhones.

Recently, Apple also started to produce iPhone 11 at the Foxconn plant in Chennai.

Apple is expected to start assembling the iPhone SE 2020 by the end of this year as well.

The company has so far produced 5 models, the iPhone 6s, iPhone 11, iPhone XR, iPhone SE and iPhone 7 in India.

Currently prices of iPhones have not been decreased, but the company is expected to reduce the prices later, as it saves 22% import duty by local production.

The iPhone 12 would be the fastest flagship iPhone model to be locally assembled in India soon after the launch.

The new iPhone 12 is likely to launch in October 2020 with the most expensive iPhone 12 Pro shipping in November.

However, the final dates are yet to be announced.

Stay tuned for further updates.
