Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Exploding; India Launch Delayed

Samsung has landed in trouble at a very unfortunate time, with its competitor, the iPhone 7, releasing later this week. Samsung has commissioned the most significant recall in its history of selling smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7, its current flagship smartphone, apparently has some issues in its battery. This issue has been causing the smartphones to explode arbitrarily. Over 35  such complaints were received primarily from the US and South Korea. Since Samsung can’t pinpoint the exact smartphones that are at a similar risk, it has initiated a global recall.

Customers who have already bought the smartphone internationally will be given a replacement within 10 days. In India, the smartphone had already been opened for pre-booking and was supposed to start shipping today. In light of the global recall, retailers and sellers have claimed that Samsung has halted its launch in India and hasn’t promised an exact date for the smartphones to arrive and start shipping in India.
