In a video that has been doing the rounds on social media, a bewildering incident came to light where in a calf was born with a human face. This has gained much popularity as cows are considered the most sacred animal in the country.
The incident took place in Muzzafarnagar of Uttar Pradesh at an animal shelter where the deformed calf was born. The calf has eyes, nose and ears that look like a human, which led to people hailing it as Gokaran, an avatar of Lord Vishnu from Hindu Mythology. The calf, however, died withing an hour after birth.
Cows have always been a matter of controversy in our country, while some hail it as god others consider the animal a delicacy. Infact, a few days ago, the UP State had banned beef and also illegal slaughterhouses. The death of the calf did not hinder the celebrations of people who believed it to be an incarnation of god. Amidst this, religious believers have planned to build a temple for the dead calf. They are considering the calf to be ‘Gokaran’, the 24th incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
The manager of the cow shelter, Raja Mishra, 55 said that, ‘It’s a miracle that the calf was born in this shelter. Thousands of people have been here to see it. We will be cremating him in three days, and a temple will be built for him. This avatar has most definitely created a devotion feeling amongst the people.’
These beliefs were however rubbished by animal experts who called it an ‘anatomical anomaly.’ But due to its rarity, the incident has garnered a lot of views on social media and grabbed the eyes of the media houses. The pictures of the calf’s dead body with a garland is doing the rounds on media!
