Three Islamic State Jihadis were arrested on Thursday in a joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad and the police from five states. The three accused were arrested while looking for new recruitments in Bihar, UP and Maharastra.
Asim Arun, UP ATS Chief speaking to a news agency said, “UP ATS conducted joint anti-terror raids in Maharashtra, Punjab, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in coordination with police of the five states.” He also said that they were arrested while making plans for terrorist attacks in Mumbai, Jalandhar and Bijnor. He said, “The police is interrogating six other persons. Legal action will be taken on the basis of evidence.”

The police received information about active members of ISIS looking for new recruitments, based on which they started the hunt. A Special Cell of Delhi Police, Crime Investigation Cell of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra ATS, Punjab Police and Bihar Police were involved in this search. This is the second such arrest in 2017.
According to reports of National Investigation Agency (NIA,) the IS module during Dussehra, last year made a failed attempt of bomb blasts at the rally held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Lucknow.
